How to install Hide From Taskbar

  1. Confirm Windows and Desktop Mate work normally before adding the mod.
  2. Create a rollback copy and install the required MelonLoader version.
  3. Download DesktopMate_HideFromTaskbarMod.dll from the original GitHub release.
  4. Put the DLL in the Mods folder and launch Desktop Mate.

Desktop Mate compatibility

How to remove the mod

Exit Desktop Mate, delete DesktopMate_HideFromTaskbarMod.dll, and relaunch. The taskbar entry should return without editing game assets.

Troubleshooting

  • Taskbar entry stays visible: click the Desktop Mate window once and check the MelonLoader log.
  • Dragging stops: wait until the hide action completes before repositioning.
  • Window seems lost: end Desktop Mate from Task Manager, remove the DLL, and restart cleanly.
